1. Who we are
Kashmir Holiday Packages Online ("we", "us") is owned and maintained by Kashmir Tourism Travel Wiki (Travel Wiki Kashmir), a travel business with its head office at Taj Complex, Khanday Colony, South City, Nowgam Bypass, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir 190015, India, and a branch office in Bijbihara, Anantnag. We plan and arrange holidays in Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit kashmirholidaypackages.online, send us an enquiry, use our booking engine or travel with us. We aim to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable laws.
2. What information we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiries and bookings: your name, mobile number, email, city, travel dates, number and ages of travellers, hotel preferences, add-ons and any notes you share.
- Travel documents: for confirmed bookings, details hotels and authorities require, such as photo ID details of travellers. Foreign nationals may need to share passport and visa details.
- Special requirements: dietary needs, accessibility needs or health information you choose to tell us so we can plan a safe, comfortable trip.
- Payments: payment confirmations and transaction references. We do not collect or store full card numbers on our website.
- Feedback: reviews or comments you send after your trip.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited, for security and to keep the site running. If we add website analytics in future, we'll update this policy.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare itineraries and quotes.
- To make and manage your booking with hotels, houseboats, drivers, guides and other suppliers.
- To contact you about your trip by phone, WhatsApp or email, before and during your travel.
- To meet legal requirements, such as guest registration rules for hotels and tax records.
- To handle payments, refunds and any complaints.
- To improve our services and website.
- To send occasional offers or newsletters, only if you agree. You can opt out at any time.
We only collect what we need for these purposes, and we rely on your consent, the need to deliver the service you asked for, and our legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We share only the information needed to deliver your trip:
- Travel suppliers: hotels, houseboats, camps, homestays, drivers, guides, trek and activity operators, and airlines or railways if we book on your behalf.
- Payment providers: if you pay online, the payment gateway processes your payment under its own privacy and security terms.
- Authorities: where required by law, for example guest registration or permit applications for restricted areas such as Ladakh's protected areas or Gurez.
- Service providers: such as our email and website hosting providers, who process data on our behalf.
We never sell your personal information.
5. Website, cookies and browser storage
- Cookies: our website does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Browser storage: our booking engine saves your unfinished booking in your own browser (local storage) so you don't lose it if you leave the page. It stays on your device; we can't see it until you send your request. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.
- Third-party content: our pages load fonts from Google Fonts and photos from Unsplash and Wikimedia Commons. These services may receive technical information such as your IP address when your browser loads their content.
- Links: links to other websites (such as Google Maps or WhatsApp) are covered by those sites' own privacy policies.
6. How long we keep information
- Enquiries that don't become bookings: up to 12 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Bookings: as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes (generally up to 8 years for financial records).
- Marketing consent: until you opt out.
7. Keeping your information safe
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections, limited staff access and trusted service providers. No system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive documents by unprotected channels unless we ask for them, and tell us immediately if you think your information has been misused.
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information, where we're not required to keep it.
- Stop sending you marketing messages.
- Withdraw consent you've given (this won't affect anything already done).
Email and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're not satisfied, you may contact the appropriate data protection authority in India.
9. Children
We collect information about children only when a parent or guardian books a trip for them and provides it. Our website isn't intended for use by children without supervision.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add online payments or analytics. The "last updated" date at the top will change, and important changes will be highlighted on our website.
