Last updated: 14 October 2026. These are sample terms written in plain English. Please have them reviewed by a legal adviser and adjust them to your business before publishing.
1. About these terms
Kashmir Holiday Packages Online is owned and maintained by Kashmir Tourism Travel Wiki (Travel Wiki Kashmir). These terms apply to all holidays, tours and services booked with Kashmir Holiday Packages Online and Travel Wiki Kashmir ("we", "us"), whether through our website, booking engine, phone, WhatsApp or email. By paying an advance, you confirm that you've read and accepted these terms on behalf of everyone in your booking.
2. Making a booking
- Request: you send a booking request through our booking engine, or an enquiry by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- Confirmation of availability: we check hotels, houseboats and services and send you a final itinerary and price.
- Advance payment: your booking is confirmed only when we receive the advance payment (see Payments).
- Booking confirmation: we send a written confirmation with your itinerary, hotel details and support contact.
A booking request made through our website is not a confirmed booking until steps 2 to 4 are complete. Prices shown online are estimates until confirmed.
3. Prices
- Package prices are per person on twin sharing unless stated otherwise, and are for land services only (no flights or trains) unless flights are clearly included.
- Single rooms, extra beds, children, hotel upgrades and peak-season dates are priced as shown in our booking engine or quote.
- GST and other government taxes are charged at the applicable rate.
- Prices may change before your booking is confirmed, for example due to hotel rate changes, fuel prices, taxes or exchange rates. Once confirmed, your price is fixed except for changes in government taxes or charges, or changes you request.
- Inclusions and exclusions are listed on each package page and in your quote. Anything not listed as included is not included.
4. Payments
- Advance: 30% of the total cost to confirm your booking.
- Balance: due 15 days before your arrival date.
- Late bookings: bookings made within 15 days of travel require full payment at confirmation.
- Peak dates: for Christmas, New Year, tulip season and other peak periods, some hotels require full payment earlier; we'll tell you at the time of booking.
- Methods: bank transfer, UPI or a secure payment link we send you. We never ask for card details by phone, WhatsApp or email.
- If the balance isn't paid on time, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and apply cancellation charges.
5. Changes by you
- Before confirmation, you can change dates, hotels or destinations freely.
- After confirmation, we'll do our best to make changes. Any extra costs charged by hotels or suppliers, plus any difference in price, are payable by you.
- Changing travel dates after confirmation may be treated as a cancellation and a new booking if hotels can't move the reservation.
- Name changes are usually possible before travel if the supplier allows it.
6. Cancellation by you
Please tell us in writing (email or WhatsApp) if you need to cancel. Charges are based on how many days before arrival we receive your notice:
| Days before arrival | Cancellation charge |
|---|---|
| 30 days or more | 10% of the total package cost |
| 15 to 29 days | 25% of the total package cost |
| 7 to 14 days | 50% of the total package cost |
| Less than 7 days, or no-show | 100% of the total package cost |
- For peak dates (Christmas and New Year, tulip season) and non-refundable services (such as some houseboats, camps, flights, helicopter and Gondola tickets), stricter charges may apply; these will be shown in your quote.
- Unused services after the trip starts (for example, leaving early or skipping a night) are not refundable.
- We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
7. Changes and cancellation by us
- Occasionally we may need to change a hotel or service. If so, we'll offer one of a similar or higher standard at no extra cost, or explain the alternatives.
- If a group departure doesn't reach the minimum number of travellers, we may cancel it at least 15 days before departure and offer another date, a private tour at a revised price, or a full refund.
- If we cancel your booking for reasons within our control, you'll receive a full refund of all money paid to us.
8. Weather, road closures and force majeure
Kashmir is a mountain region. Snowfall, landslides, heavy rain, road or pass closures (such as Zojila, Razdan or Sinthan), Gondola closures, flight cancellations, government advisories, strikes, curfews, security situations and other events beyond our control can affect travel plans. In these cases:
- We will try to offer suitable alternatives, such as a different destination, day trip or route.
- Extra costs caused by such events (for example, extra hotel nights or longer routes) are payable by you.
- Services not used because of such events are refundable only to the extent that hotels and suppliers refund us.
9. Refunds
- Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7 to 14 working days.
- Bank and payment gateway charges, if any, may be deducted.
- Refunds that depend on suppliers (such as airlines) follow the supplier's timelines.
10. Your responsibilities
- Carry valid government photo ID for every traveller. Foreign nationals must carry their passport and visa and may need permits for some areas.
- Make sure names and details you give us match your ID.
- Follow the rules of hotels, houseboats and local authorities, and the instructions of drivers, guides and security personnel.
- Respect local customs: dress modestly, especially at religious places, and avoid behaviour that could cause offence.
- Local rules require union taxis, ponies and some services in places such as Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg; these are paid directly unless included.
- You are responsible for your belongings during the trip.
- Drivers work reasonable hours; sightseeing late at night or outside the itinerary may cost extra.
11. Health and safety
- Some places in Kashmir and Ladakh are at high altitude and can be very cold. Please consult your doctor before travelling if you have heart, lung or other health conditions, are pregnant, or are travelling with infants.
- Activities such as skiing, trekking, rafting, pony rides and paragliding carry risk. They are run by licensed local operators; please follow their safety instructions.
- Tell us about any medical conditions, allergies or mobility needs when booking so we can plan accordingly.
12. Our liability
We plan and arrange your trip with care and use suppliers we trust. Hotels, transport, activity operators and other suppliers are independent businesses, and they are responsible for the services they provide. We are not liable for losses caused by events beyond our control, by your own actions, or by suppliers' independent services, except where the law requires otherwise. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the booking. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.
13. Complaints
If something isn't right during your trip, please tell your driver and call us straight away so we can try to fix it on the spot. If you still have a concern after your trip, email us within 30 days of returning at . We'll acknowledge it promptly and aim to resolve it fairly.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Jammu and Kashmir. [Confirm the exact jurisdiction with your legal adviser.]
