Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Srinagar

Arrive at Srinagar airport, where your driver meets you. Check in to your hotel or houseboat and take an evening shikara ride on Dal Lake past the floating gardens.

Day 2Srinagar sightseeing

Visit the Mughal Gardens (Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi), then drive up to Shankaracharya Temple for a view over the city and the lakes.

Day 3Srinagar sightseeing

Full-day excursion to Sonamarg, the Meadow of Gold. Optional pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier. Return to Srinagar by evening.

Day 4Transfer to Gurez

Long scenic drive (about 6 hours) over Razdan Pass to Gurez Valley along the Kishanganga River. Overnight in a guesthouse in Dawar.

Day 5Gurez sightseeing

Explore Gurez: Habba Khatoon peak views, Tulail valley villages with log houses, and the Kishanganga riverside.

Day 6Departure

Drive back from Gurez to Srinagar airport for your onward journey.

Good to know

  • Prepaid SIM cards from outside Jammu & Kashmir don't work here. Postpaid connections do.
  • Snow can close Gondola Phase 2 and some high passes. If that happens, we'll suggest something just as good on the day.
  • In Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg, local union taxis handle inner sightseeing. You pay them directly.
  • Carry a government photo ID for every traveller.
