Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Srinagar

Arrive and check in. Evening visit to Hazratbal Shrine on Dal Lake.

Day 2Old city heritage walk

Guided walk to Khanqah-e-Moula, Jamia Masjid, Pathar Masjid and the shrine of Naqshband Sahib, with a stop at a traditional bakery.

Day 3Hari Parbat and Dastgeer Sahib

Makhdoom Sahib shrine, Sharika Devi temple and Gurudwara Chatti Patshahi on Hari Parbat, then Dastgeer Sahib at Khanyar.

Day 4Charar-e-Sharif and crafts

Day trip to the shrine of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani at Charar-e-Sharif. Afternoon visits to Pashmina and papier-mache workshops.

Day 5Kheer Bhawani and Mughal Gardens

Morning at the Kheer Bhawani spring temple, afternoon in Shalimar and Nishat Bagh, evening Sufiana music where available.

Day 6Srinagar to Pahalgam via Aishmuqam

Drive south visiting the hilltop shrine of Aishmuqam before reaching Pahalgam.

Day 7Departure

Drive about 3 hours to Srinagar airport.

Good to know

  • Prepaid SIM cards from outside Jammu & Kashmir don't work here. Postpaid connections do.
  • Snow can close Gondola Phase 2 and some high passes. If that happens, we'll suggest something just as good on the day.
  • In Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg, local union taxis handle inner sightseeing. You pay them directly.
  • Carry a government photo ID for every traveller.
