Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1Arrival in Srinagar
Arrive in Srinagar and check in. Sunset shikara ride on Dal Lake.
Day 2Srinagar sightseeing
Mughal Gardens, Shankaracharya Temple and the old city.
Day 3Srinagar to Yusmarg
Drive about 1.5 hours to Yusmarg, stopping at the shrine of Charar-e-Sharif. Afternoon walk through pine forest to Nilnag Lake.
Day 4Yusmarg to Aharbal Waterfall
Drive about 3 hours via Shopian to Aharbal, where the Veshaw River plunges about 25 metres through a rocky gorge. Overnight near the falls.
Day 5Aharbal to Daksum via Kokernag
Drive through Kulgam to Kokernag's spring-fed botanical garden, then up to Daksum, a quiet forest meadow on the Bringi stream.
Day 6Sinthan Top day trip
Drive about an hour up to Sinthan Top for high mountain views and snow into early summer. Afternoon walk in Daksum's forests.
Day 7Daksum to Pahalgam
Visit Achabal Mughal garden and Martand Sun Temple on the way to Pahalgam.
Day 8Pahalgam valleys
Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari by local taxi.
Day 9Departure
Drive about 3 hours to Srinagar airport.

- Prepaid SIM cards from outside Jammu & Kashmir don't work here. Postpaid connections do.
- Snow can close Gondola Phase 2 and some high passes. If that happens, we'll suggest something just as good on the day.
- In Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg, local union taxis handle inner sightseeing. You pay them directly.
- Carry a government photo ID for every traveller.
