The ultimate northern journey. Spend five nights in Kashmir with a houseboat, the Gondola and Pahalgam, then drive the Srinagar–Leh highway to Leh, Nubra and Pangong. You'll see two completely different worlds in one trip.
Arrive in Srinagar and check in to a houseboat. Sunset shikara ride on Dal Lake.
Mughal Gardens, Shankaracharya Temple and the old city.
Floating market at dawn, then a day trip to Doodhpathri or shopping in Srinagar.
Drive about 2 hours to Gulmarg and ride the Gondola. Overnight in Gulmarg.
Drive about 4 to 5 hours to Pahalgam via Pampore. Afternoon at Betaab Valley.
Morning at Aru Valley, then drive about 5 hours to Sonamarg via Srinagar.
Cross Zojila Pass and stop at the Drass War Memorial before reaching Kargil.
Drive past Mulbekh, Lamayuru and Alchi to Leh (about 7 hours).
Rest, then visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Inner Line Permits are arranged today.
Cross Khardung La to Nubra. Diskit monastery and the Hunder sand dunes.
Drive along the Shyok river to Pangong Tso. Overnight in a lakeside camp.
Return over Chang La, visiting Thiksey and Hemis monasteries.
Transfer to Leh airport for your flight home.
